In the past month, there has been a lot of freedom in what we can do. We started off with drawing flowers. I didn’t go into much detail with my flowers but it was a good basic assignment to develop skill and be creative. With this assignment we used flowers from the classroom and were supposed to draw them with colored pencils. While it was more simple, it was still very interesting. The second assignment we had was a portrait. I chose to draw a portrait of my dad. It was the first portrait i have ever drawn so it was a big challenge but I also learned a lot. It was a good risk and although I haven’t finished it, I’m proud of what i’ve accomplished so far. This piece helped me develop a lot of skill and specifically use proportions to get every part right. It took a while but finding the right spot and aligning for everything made it come out a lot better and helped me develop this skill. For the rest of the month we were able to work on anything we wanted. I worked on a couple different things and just messed around with trying new things. I’m hoping to continue with them as they help me develop skills and it’s fun to be able to have more freedom with art.
